Message from the Labor Day Parade Committee: Local 601 is # 16 in the lineup. There is also a group marching in the Streator Labor Day Parade if anyone is interested.
Hi Everyone!
We’re excited that you will be participating in the annual Champaign Labor Day Parade!
**PLEASE NOTE that this year’s parade is starting one hour later than it has in the past. The parade will begin at 11:00am.
Below is the line-up for Monday’s parade. Keep in mind that we reserve the right to make changes, if needed.
It is very important that you arrive by 10:00am because Public Works will be closing off the parade route at that time.
I have included a map of the parade route. We’ll actually be staging along the parking lot behind Jupiter’s Pizza and down Walnut St. As in the past, we will have the Entry #’s chalked on the ground and we will have volunteers to help you find your spot. Parking for parade participants will be at the city-owned parking lot at Fremont and Washington (enter from Washington St). Keep in mind that you will not be able to leave until the end of the parade when the streets are reopened. There is plenty of parking in the Hill Street Parking Garage (left side of the map) or on streets to the north of the parade route.
The picnic will immediately follow the parade at the corner of Taylor Street and Market Street (also in downtown Champaign).
